This visual feature is a minor improvement I’ve been looking forward to adding — and finally got around to this week: the Range Ring HUD. It’s an overlay consisting of concentric circles that mark distance intervals and scale based on zoom level.
It’s by no means a new concept. It’s heavily utilized in nautical radar displays, chart plotters, and avionics, but somewhat less common in consumer GPS apps. Still, it’s a helpful tool for seeing how near or far map features are at a glance.
The default state of this feature is disabled, but it’s easily enabled in the Settings menu. Once activated, it appears on the map whenever Follow Puck Mode is toggled on.
