In the entity detail view—the interface used to manage your waypoints, track logs, routes, and folders — we felt it was essential to visualize the entity (or folder contents) at a glance on a miniature map, so we implemented the preview map.
This is a simplified, inline map designed to focus on the loaded entity, and it’s the first thing you see under the Info tab when you enter the view.
The earliest iteration of the preview map wasn’t interactive, in order to keep it lightweight, since it was intended to serve as a simple visual reference. However, it quickly became apparent that we needed to enable panning, zooming, and toggling between standard and satellite views to give users more control.
The Re-frame button recenters the content with a single tap.
